Today I presented a new session I’ve been working on for a while, the so-called “Sound of Databases.” Here in Berlin, at Berlin Expert Days 2026, and for the first time at Freie Universität Berlin. A 60-minute presentation, and there were a couple of occasions when maybe “Sound of Silence” would have been a more pertinent title.

I definitely still need to iterate on it and refine a significantly shorter version for the AWS Community Summit. Next talk: Manchester, next week. I am 100% not into benchmarking, but I still love (really) playing with cloud technologies and databases specifically.
